Making the graduation film was very challenging and really made me thinking a lot about what I want to do in the future. I started this course not sure my direction as an animator, and I’m still quite confused about it. I’ve accepted it’s okay and natural to feel this way. I tried a range of techniques and softwares throughout the course, mostly focusing on 3D, I don’t have a clear preference between 2D and 3D, for me the animation itself feels more like a technical process than a creative one. I think my primary goal has always been to utilize whatever technique serves my projects best. Although I would love to be an independent artist just like anyone else, the reality is hard. I think I should still be proud that I finished a project on my own using a software completely self-taught, the final product is not perfect but it has really helped me understand 3D animation better, so I’m still committed to it, and my next steps would be:
-polish final film for festivals submissions
-refine animations made for the showreel
-keep learning Maya and Unreal
