Tried my best keeping the drawings neat, avoided using textured brushes, ended up looking like something straight out of a children’s colouring book.

Presentation

We are supposed to do animators from our own countries. Lots of Chinese international students in our class and everyone’s doing the traditional ink/papercut animation from the last century because that’s unforturnately what Chinese animations all about, the only decent things we got. As the censorship getting stringent everyday this country is just gradually turning into a wasteland devoid of creativity. With the recent protests against the Covid rule and the Communist Party I just don’t feel motivated these days.

Timelapse

Agreed to do a drawing timelapse video for an MA performace student without knowing the deadline is in 3 days. Instantly regretted. It’s about a polical issue in Egypt. Only got a rough storyboard so far. But it’s an opportunity to put into practice what I have learned from life drawing classes.
