Balls
Did some basic bouncing ball animation. The weight of the ball was difficult to control.
Life drawing
Haven’t drawn on paper for a while. Need some time to get used to it. The first class was just having fun. The model was nice, lean, just the right amount of muscle. Poses could be more creative, no more tennis bats please.
3D
Started a personal 3d animation project to practice Blender, haven’t opened the software for 2 months after my BA graduation project. Forgot most of the shortcuts. Hard to pick it up again. Opened my old tutorial collection on youtube just to find out that Blender Guru got banned, reasons unknown, I miss the donuts. Anyway I had already realised that following tutorials wasn’t for me long ago. I just need something exciting to work on, spending hours making a chair is just sad.
Spent the rest of the weekend doing research. Trying to find an existed story to adapt, because I’m terrible at making up things when it comes to storytelling. Blame it on my BA, always working with someone else’s script, cannot come up a single thing without it.
Options:
-Kafka, The Castle or The Trial( cliche, not the best one, Quay Brothers had alreay done that 30 years ago before I was born)
-Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov(haven’t even finished reading the book, the film by Kubrick spoiled my whole reading experience(I really like Full Metal Jacket though) But most importantly the subject is too sensitive)
-The Notes of a Crocodile ( so far the best one, female asian writer, lesbian. The story is set in Taiwan, so easier do the set design)
